| Hi y’all. I'm
Calico Charlie. I was born in Pueblo de Los Angles, California
in 1836. When the war broke out I hitched up
with the Union Army and fought in Arizona and New Mexico. After the
war I went to work for the King Ranch in Texas as a regulator during
the range wars. (Fer you folks that don't know, a regulator was
someone who enforced the rules back then.)
When I heard about the chance to strike it rich I
headed back to California in 1882 during the gold and silver rush. I
settled in Calico where the silver was just pouring out of the mines.
Now I work there as a Deputy Marshal and part time gambler. Yup,
the "Calico" in my name comes from the town of Calico. |
